Revelation Revealed: Chapter 15 | Jim Hammond
Recap
Pastor Jim taught the 23rd installment of his series entitled, “Revelation Revealed.” His text was the 15th chapter of Revelation, which tells us what happens before the seven bowl judgments are poured out onto the earth. He said, “When you look at what is happening in the world right now, it’s obvious that the rapture is near!”
Dive Deeper
Pastor Jim talked about how the subject of end time scriptures is not a popular subject to teach about. The subject is avoided as many believe it is controversial. The result is that no one ever hears about this very important subject.
There is a danger of not teaching end time prophecy. If the book of Revelation is never preached, then we’re not hearing the full counsel of the Word of God.
2nd Thessalonians tells us the church is a restraining force against the spirit of Antichrist.
Before the Antichrist shows up, there will be a great falling away.
Revelation chapter 15 is only eight verses long. What we’re witnessing in this eight-verse chapter is the events and the ceremony that take place when the bowls of wrath are given to the seven angels.
Rev. 15:1, “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” This is a vision the apostle John is describing where seven bowls (or vials) of God’s wrath are about to be poured out upon the kingdom of the Antichrist and the whole world. These judgments are the worst things that will happen to earth.
Right after the bowl judgments, Jesus will descend upon the earth.
There was discussion of the prominent usage of the number seven in the book of Revelation. The meaning of the number seven is fulfillment, completion, and perfection.
The bowl judgments are filled up the wrath of God. Pastor Jim discusses the difference between the words “wrath” and “anger.”
Rev. 15:2, “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.” The people standing on the sea of glass before God’s throne are the martyrs that went through the tribulation, who were killed because of their faith. These are the ones that refused to take the mark of the beast.
The martyrs stood of the sea of glass “mingled with fire.” The fire symbolizes the judgment of God. The kind of triumph these martyrs of the tribulation will experience will be deliverance through fire, not out of it.
In Revelation 15:3, the martyrs sang two songs: the “Song of Moses” and the “Song of the Lamb.”
Pastor Jim made note that the World Economic Forum is calling the AI (artificial intelligence) “the beast.” They know what they are fighting against. And they are so deceived that they think they are going to win.
