Safety Guidelines

A few ways we can be safe and together this weekend.

Our staff has been working to create a safe and secure environment for our Kids Ministry. If you plan on coming to church in the weeks ahead, here are a few things to expect during your experience.

    1. You will need to register your children using the RSVP button on this page.
    2. Once you arrive at church, you can check in your children in the Kids area of the main lobby—and it will be touch free!
    3. Clear directions will be posted for the flow of traffic to and from our Kids Ministry classrooms.
    4. Temperatures will be taken of all parents, children, and volunteers prior to coming into the room to ensure all temperatures are within a healthy range.
    5. Chairs will be placed six feet apart.
    6. Volunteers and staff will be wearing masks unless they are at the front of the class ministering. Masks are available but will not be required for kids.
    7. Please pick up children promptly after service.

Please Note: We will be doing everything we can to practice limited contact per the guidelines of the CDC.

How we are keeping your kids safe.

We love you. We trust you. Our new guidelines and procedures are in place so you and your family can trust that we are doing everything we can to ensure your church experience is as safe as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon.

  • If you or your children are experiencing symptoms, please stay home and enjoy our services online.
  • Once you arrive at church, you can check in your children in the Kids area of the main lobby—and it will be touch free!
  • Clear directions will be posted for the flow of traffic to and from our Kids Ministry classrooms. Please follow all the posted directions so each of us can stay safe and appropriately distanced before and after each service.
  • We will be taking touch-free temperatures of all parents, children, and volunteers prior to entering the Kids Ministry area to ensure all temperatures are within a healthy range.
  • We encourage kids to refrain from physical contact with each other as much as possible. Please know that everyone is at different comfort levels with interaction currently, and we want to respect each other.
  • Surfaces will be cleaned before and after services.
  • Chairs will be placed six feet apart.
  • Volunteers and staff will be wearing masks, unless they are on stage ministering. Masks are optional for you and your children. The governor’s ordinance does strongly recommend masks for all.
  • Please pick up children promptly after service.
  • Enter through the designated doors on the north and south side of the building. (Check the Where to Enter tab)

Parents, please let your children know in advance what to expect. Remind them that this time of social distancing is temporary but important as we take care of each other as a church family. We appreciate your help in making this transition as smooth as possible.

By the way, we are planning and preparing for when and how we will open services for younger children in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for news of when this will happen!

Please Note: We will be doing everything we can to practice limited contact per the guidelines of the CDC.

Grades 1-5 has reopened safely!

As of June 27, kids in grades 1–5 are able to head to their classrooms. Please check out our policies and guidelines on the Welcome Back page to ensure that safety is a priority in our weekend ministry. Due to the current executive order, our current capacity is 50% of our normal standards. That means you will need to fill out an RSVP for our teams to plan accordingly for each service. Please take a little time to let us know you are coming.

Helping parents to raise strong, spiritually focused kids.

A church of their very own

Our biggest priority in Grades 1–5 at Living Word is to create a safe place for your kids, physically and emotionally. All of our volunteers have been screened and background checked. Everything we do is focused on demonstrating the love of God to your kiddos.

Your child can expect to learn the Bible, make friends at church through smalls groups, participate with other kids in a live praise and worship experience, and have fun! We believe church should be more fun than a barrel full of monkeys. We have an amazing group of volunteers who are excited to invest in every child they meet and who are dedicated to listening, learning, and being there for your kids.

One of the unique things about our kids ministry is the opportunity for kids to serve in ministry. Kids don’t just sit and listen at LW Kids. They actively serve in ministries like drama, praise and worship, tech, and ushers. Many of the adult pastors and leaders at Living Word grew up in LW Kids and started serving as a child.

Our service times are 5 p.m. Saturday evenings and 10 a.m. Sunday mornings. We open our doors 30 minutes before service, and we offer fun, creative pre-service activities.
