Reopening Updates | Face Coverings, Kids Ministry, Social Distancing Policy
Face Covering Mandate as of July 25
Gov. Tim Walz announced a statewide mandate Wednesday requiring Minnesotans to wear face masks in stores, public buildings, and other places where people gather indoors. Due to the fact we rent our space from the Rogers 18 Theatre, this mandate will require some changes at Living Word Northwest. In an effort to honor our partnership with them, we will be adhering to their mask policy:
- Masks are NOT required in the adult and kids auditoriums.
- Masks ARE required in common areas such as lobbies, walkways, and restrooms.
- All attendees must wear masks in common areas.
- Masks will continue to be available at the main entrance.
Kids Ministry Available for Ages 3–Grade 5
Parents! We are so excited to safely reopen kids ministry for ages 3-K as well as continue to have services for Grades 1–5. Starting the weekend of Sunday, July 19, we will have both of these areas ready for your family with a few minor changes just to keep everyone safe. However, one thing will be the same—our teachers, volunteers, and church are pumped to see you and your kids!
Things to know before arriving:
Family Health Check
Touch-free temperatures of kids and parents will be taken at our Family Health Check-in Station. If any family member has a temperture of 99.5 or higher, they will be asked to keep their children out of class for that day. Everyone entering and exiting the kid’s theatre will be given hand sanitzer at that time.
Check-in begins at 10:45 a.m. A volunteer will assist each family to maintain a touch-free check-in process. One parent may accompany their child into the kid’s theatre for drop-off.
Social-Distancing During Service
Siblings can be seated together. Other families will be seated two seats apart to allow for social distancing. Activities and lessons will be engaging and fun, but will also maintain a six feet distance.
Parents will remain in the hallway outside of the kids theatre. Each child will be sent out to meet their parent in this area for check-out. Please stand on the marked spaces in the hall while you wait for your child.

We will also continue with the procedures outlined below:
Northwest Campus Reopening Plan:
Some areas in the theater will be open and some will be closed.
We’ll be going the extra mile to ensure everything is clean.
We won’t be hugging or handshaking and will remain six feet apart.
For the safety of our guests, masks are required in all transit areas of the theatre but they are not required in the auditoriums.
