Recap:
The words that we speak carry authority. That’s why guest minister Dennis Burke took the time to remind us this past weekend about our God-given authority in Christ. You see, every word that God speaks is infused with power. He has shared His power with us, so inside every spoken word is the power to bring itself to pass. Now, the enemy will work to pervert this understanding and keep you from speaking truth and avoiding God’s Word—so don’t do him any favors. Put the Word of God in your mouth and know that all things are possible with God!

Dive Deeper:
You are who God says you are. That is true regardless of what thoughts the enemy has been feeding into your mind. God has given you authority to tread on the kingdom of darkness, but that authority will not be without opposition. You see, we are a battlefield for who will win the war between light and darkness, and our mind is the battleground.

When you have thoughts that you are inadequate, don’t listen to them. God created you specifically to fulfill the plan He has for you. The kingdom of darkness will tremble at your word when you speak God’s Word. That means you need to tell the kingdom of darkness that it has already lost. Speak it out. You may be shaking when you tell them you’re part of God’s unshakeable kingdom because the circumstances look uncertain, but those spoken words have the authority to keep you unshakeable.

The enemy doesn’t stand a chance against the kingdom of light, but he will always try to get a foothold. That’s why Jesus was tempted in the wilderness after He had been baptized. He had just heard a clear word from heaven that He was God’s beloved Son. The enemy wanted to tempt him to move away from those words and follow a different kingdom.

We live by the spoken Word of God. That’s where our authority is: God and His Word. You don’t have to feel like you have authority. You have authority, and you use it when you speak truths from God’s Word. Our faith overcomes the world, and Satan is no match for the things of God, so don’t give up. Let God’s Word flow from you with power! God will provide you with new mindsets that match His as you do.

Luke 1:37 Amp.
For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

Luke 3:21–22 KJV
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Luke 4:1–13 KJV
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

Proverbs 4:20–23 TPT
Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I teach you,
and pay attention to all that I have to say.
Fill your thoughts with my words
until they penetrate deep into your spirit.
Then, as you unwrap my words,
they will impart true life and radiant health
into the very core of your being.
So above all, guard the affections of your heart,
for they affect all that you are.
Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being,
for from there flows the wellspring of life.

Discussion Questions:
1. Why do our words matter?
2. Do you feel like you have authority?
3. What part do our feelings play in this battle against evil?
4. If Jesus was tempted, will we be tempted?
5. What is our weapon against the enemies’ temptations?

Grace Unveiled: Everyone Is Guilty (Rom. 2:1–9)  | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim gave the fifth installment of his series entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” The first three chapters of Romans can be summed up by saying people who rely on their own righteousness, their own ability, their own self-effort will not escape the judgment of God. It is only through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ can any man escape His judgment. In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul defines New Testament righteousness as the ability to stand before God without a sense of guilt or inferiority.

2024 Prayer and Presence Conference | Heidi Baker, Joseph Harris, and Leif Hetland

Demonstrations of the presence of God were manifested at The Prayer and Presence Conference this past weekend. Guest speakers Heidi Baker, Joseph Harris, and Leif Hetland shared what was on their hearts, and a definite theme came forth—we are at the threshold of a great awakening to God. The flames for world evangelism were ignited by three different videos: 1) an update on Living Word’s church planting mission, 2) a video of how Iris Global Ministries is in the midst of violence and persecution, yet they bravely continue their work, and 3) a video of a great outpouring of God’s Spirit in Asia!

Grace Unveiled: How to Get a Reprobate Mind #4 | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim gave his fourth installment in his series entitled, “Grace Unveiled,” with the subtitle being “How to Get a Reprobate Mind.” This is a series on the book of Romans, a book considered to be the greatest writing of Christian doctrine in all the Bible. Pastor Jim says it has multiple themes on redemption. It touches on our inability to work for the favor of God, the guilt that we have to deal with on a daily basis, and the fact that salvation is only to be received by believing. Romans 1: 24–32 is the subject of this message.

FOCUS FOR EFFECT: Love | Mac Hammond

Pastor Mac taught the third installment of his series entitled, “Focus on Effect,” based upon 2nd Corinthians 4:17, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” The apostle Paul said the hardships in our lives can be light and momentary. It all depends on what we place our focus upon. Paul says we are to focus our attention on what is eternal, rather than what is temporal. There are three things that are eternal: faith, hope, and love. We are to focus on that.

FOCUS FOR EFFECT: Hope | Mac Hammond

This series is all about focus, meaning where do you give your attention. This is important because whatever you give your attention to will determine how hard or difficult your life will be. And conversely, it will determine how easy and carefree it will be. Teaching on 1st Corinthians 13:13, Pastor Mac says you can gain the clarity you need to succeed in your life by focusing on matters of faith, hope, and love.
