The Impossible Dream: Strongholds, #3 | Mac Hammond

Recap

Pastor Mac presented the third installment of his new series entitled, “The Impossible Dream.” He said it was important that we have a clear understanding of what is the impossible dream. It’s not enough simply to dream. You need to go out on a limb and dream an impossible dream. What is an “impossible” dream? It’s a dream that can’t be fulfilled without God’s ability and power! Pastor Mac said, “God has called us to be dreamers.”

Dive Deeper

Pastor Mac said, “Today in our society, there are sophisticated intellectuals that would suggest dreaming is a wasted activity, because dreaming implies fantasy. They argue that we don’t have time for that kind of thing. However, fantasy doesn’t exist unless there’s an untruth. And then I would agree that fantasizing is a waste of time.”

The kind of dreaming God has called us to do is “impossible” dreaming. But this dreaming doesn’t involve fantasy if it’s rooted in the Word of God.

There are many impossibilities that we can’t experience without the Lord, without His Word producing change in our lives.

It is an imperative that we be dreamers, because this is the way His Word represents our growth in Him. That we are willing to dream impossible dreams—not fantasy—but things He says can happen in our lives.

The Word says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. There are many impossibilities in the natural world that a relationship with the Lord changes. He makes the impossible dream possible.

What is a dream? The definition of a dream is a pattern of thought, or mental imagery, that stimulates the intellect and stirs the passion. It promotes thought along a certain line or in a particular area and it stirs your heart—your passion for that dream. This is what dreaming does.

The definition of dreaming is similar to the definition of imagination. The Word tells us that the use of our imagination enables us to envision a future probability in line with the Word of God that He brings to pass.

As we imagine these things about our future, the Word tells us that we can be healed… that we can prosper and have good success… that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. It changes our view of our probable destiny, if you’re invested your faith in His Word.

If you’re a believer, dreaming is an important consideration for you to embrace. But dreaming needs to take a step up and become the impossible dream.

We are taught there are certain things that will move your life forward such as goal setting, both long term and short term. You are taught to do these things based on what we rationally can expect we may be able to accomplish using our own skills and abilities.

If you think your dream is a little bit frivolous because it exceeds the parameters of rational thought, then you might be missing the Lord perhaps. He says to dream the “impossible” dream.

How does a dream begin? It begins when a desire is born in your heart by the Spirit of God. God says in Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

The next verse says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” The Lord will plant a desire in your heart and then He’ll bring it to pass.

When He gives you a dream, He gives you supernatural empowerment to accomplish it.

If you are pursuing your own vocational goals and not God’s plan for your life, then there’ll be no supernatural empowerment to accomplish it. God only empowers His purpose, not your private agenda.

It’s important you distinguish between your fleshly desires and something that God has implanted in your heart. The dream God has implanted in your heart will not contradict the Word of God. His desires will orient you toward His purpose for your life. This is where a dream begins.

GRACE UNVEILED | Creation on the Edge of Its Seat (Leaning Forward) | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim taught the 36th installment of his ongoing series on the book of Romans, entitled “Grace Unveiled.” Due to the rich treasures that are contained in Romans chapter 8, Pastor Jim is determined to reveal every one of its gems, leaving no truth uncovered! Did you know, there are three “groans” in this chapter? In this message, we looked at the groan that all creation gives right before the end of the dispensation of grace. Folks, that’s right now!

GRACE UNVEILED | Creation on the Edge of Its Seat (Leaning Forward) | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim taught his next installment in his teaching series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” Many scholars believe the book of Romans is the “peak” of the New Testament. In fact, multiple commentators and Greek scholars refer to Romans as “the definitive statement of Christian expression.” In this 35th teaching, Pastor Jim said, “The book of Romans can be better understood when you read it as if the Apostle Paul wrote a letter to a number of little house churches in Rome.” He then went on to explain what he meant by that.

The Fullness of Him | Russell Kalenberg

We were joined this past weekend with guest minister, Russell Kalenberg, who reminded us of who we are in Christ! Jesus wants you to have a revelation of all He has given you. He wants to pull back the curtains and provide you with a new focus on what He has called you to become. Too often, we focus on who the world says we are instead of remembering the gift of grace and authority God has given us.

GRACE UNVEILED, #34 “Why Suffering Isn’t Wasted” | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim continued with his teaching series on the book of Romans called “Grace Unveiled.” In this 34th installment entitled, “Why Suffering Isn’t Wasted,” Pastor Jim said he wanted to revisit Romans 8:17: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (KJV). He explained, “I realized that this scripture is much deeper than how I explained it. So I feel it’s very important to go through it again.” We found out what it means to “suffer with Him.”

Bread for the Soul | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim wished all the mothers in the congregation and online a very happy Mother’s Day. It was a day dedicated to the celebration of motherhood, acknowledging the great devotion mothers have toward their families. He pointed out there was one specific thing at which mothers are very good—how to feed their children the Bread of Life like no one else can.
