What is Living Word going to do in 2022 to advance the kingdom of God? That’s the question we started to answer this weekend as Pastor Mac talked about the specifics of what we will pursue through Vision 2022. Our vision includes expanded outreach to our church family, our community, our nation, and our world.

None of this, however, will be as effective without prayer. Living Word has always kept prayer as the foundation of its ministry. That’s why Pastor Lynne took a few moments this past weekend to talk about the launch of The Prayer Movement, a global movement to expand the foundation of prayer within the body of Christ worldwide.

Dive Deeper:
Vision provides purpose and meaning to our daily routine. It provides the reason why we keep doing what we know to do. That’s why we have laid out a vision for 2022 that includes community outreach, purposeful ministry within our four walls that reach our church family and beyond, a new church campus, the Winner’s Minute, and increased training for global missions.

The core of each of these outreaches is prayer. That’s why we just launched The Prayer Movement, a concerted effort to mobilize the power of the Internet and cultivate people worldwide to gather online for prayer, receive prayer resources, and be a resource to each other to prepare the way for God’s kingdom to impact this world.

For too long, the church has played catch up with the world because it hasn’t had the financial resources to be on the cutting edge of what society is looking for. We know we have what society needs, so we intend to expand our capacity to reach people for God’s kingdom and His glory.

Remember, God needs a vehicle through which He can reach people on this earth. Our financial capacity is one avenue through which He can have a platform to reach people with His good news. Best of all, when we make our financial capacity available to Him, we give Him first access to our heart. When we provide God first access to our heart, He can make available to us the true riches: His peace, joy, and fulfillment in our lives.

Dr. James Tan | Power and Fire, Part 3

Dr. James Tan was our special guest speaker. He spoke about the supernatural power people receive when they experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Entitled, “Power and Fire,” Dr. James taught all three weekend services on the basic fundamental truths concerning a believer’s encounter with Holy Ghost power! He stressed how important it is for all believers to have their own personal encounters with God the Holy Ghost for themselves. “You can’t live off someone else’s testimony,” he said. “You have to get your own experiences about encountering the power of the Holy Spirit for yourself.”

When Jesus walked the earth, one of His missions was to reveal the Father God’s love for us. And one of the ways He did that was through the telling of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. When teaching on this parable, most preachers focus all their attention on the Prodigal Son, and how he repented. However, the whole point of this parable is to reveal the Father’s love. Pastor Jim said, “This may be one of the most-preached messages in history. And I know you think you know what this parable is all about… Well, we shall see.”
