A Night to Remember | Smilin’ Samuel

Just before going to the cross for us, Jesus gave us a picture of all He would do for us.  That picture is found as we take communion.  It reminds us of all the things Jesus did for us.  The bread is a picture of healing; the juice is a picture of forgiveness.

Lesson Plan

Bible Story:

The Last Supper (Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:15-20; I Corinthians 11:23-25) The night before Jesus was crucified, He met with His disciples to celebrate the Passover. While they were eating, Jesus took the bread, broke it and gave it to His disciples to eat. He told them that the bread was a picture of healing for their bodies. He then took the juice and gave it to them. He told them it was a picture of forgiveness and the cleansing of their heart from sin. Jesus began communion. It is a picture of what He has done for us.
