Are We in the Days of Noah? | Jim Hammond

Recap

Pastor Jim taught a message entitled, “Are we in the Days of Noah?” Jesus’ disciples asked Him what the signs will be of His coming. Jesus said it will be like it was in the days of Noah: “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Fellow believers, we are in the days of Noah. All they thought about in the days of Noah was eating and drinking and the like. They were not thinking about the flood that was coming. So it is today!

Dive Deeper

Another sign of the last days is deception. In Matthew 24, Jesus’ disciples asked Him what will be the signs of His coming. One of the first things He said was, “Don’t be deceived.” There will be a lot of deception in the last days.

2 Peter 3:3–4 tells us about another sign that we are in the last days: “Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” Peter is telling us that in the last days, there will be scoffers, mockers. So there will be a society that mocks.

Matthew 24:37 says, “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” People were so busy with life and were not looking for the flood. And so the flood took them all unaware.

How else was it like before the flood? Genesis 6:5 says the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth that every imagination and intention of all human thinking was only evil and it was continual.

Also before the flood, the “sons of God,” who were fallen angels, cohabited with human women and had children, thereby polluting the human generations.

Noah was perfect in his generations, meaning he and his children were 100 percent human. Noah and his family had not been infected with what you could call a “genetic mutation,” that was taking place on the earth.

Satan tried to pollute the human blood in Noah’s time so as to make the human race “less human.” At the fall of man, God promised Satan one day the seed of woman would crush his head. So Satan set out to pollute the human generations.

Today the pollution of the human race is being done through science and genetics by scientists who call themselves “transhumanists.”

Transhumanist scientists want to give the planet something called three supers: 1) super longevity, 2) super health, and 3) super intelligence. They want to genetically modify the human race.

Think about it: As in the days of Noah, the human race was genetically modified, not through technology, but through the polluting of human blood by fallen angels. Today the transhumanists want to modify humans genetically through science.

Read About It

Matthew 24:3, 38–44, “Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” … 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

2 Peter 3:3, “Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Gen. 6:5, “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

Discussion Questions

The people living before the flood were not living their lives so they would be ready when the flood came. Considering this, how can you live your life in a way so you are prepared for the return of the Lord?

There will be much deception in the earth; in fact, deception is already upon us. How can you keep yourself from becoming deceived?

One of the ways we can keep ourselves from falling away during the end days is to fellowship with like-minded believers. Are you a committed member of a solid Bible-believing church?

Recent Sermon Notes

Grace Unveiled: “Baptized Into His Death” | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim presented the 21st installment to his series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” By now, having gone through Romans chapters 1 through 5, we should all have an understanding of what it means to be justified. Once you ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you receive the gift of righteousness. That means you are able to stand before God the Father without a sense of guilt or inferiority. This is the New Testament covenant we have with God, made possible through Jesus Christ. Now that we have a firm understanding of what it means to be justified through grace, Pastor Jim began to teach on the subject of sanctification.

GRACE UNVEILED 19 The Throne of Grace | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim gave the 20th installment of his series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” His subtitle was “The Spirit Is Greater Than Flesh.” He finished up his examination of Galatians 5, where it listed the works of the flesh. This examination revealed that a lot of us have been sinning and we didn’t even realize it! Nonetheless, because of our New Testament Covenant, through grace, our sins are forgiven and we are made righteous before our God!

Upper Midwest Faith Explosion 24 | Terri Savelle Foy, Kenneth Copeland, and Jesse Duplantis

“Ignite a fresh fire in our hearts, Lord,” was the heart cry of Pastor Mac at the annual Upper Midwest Faith Explosion. Passion to fulfill the Lord’s mandate to make disciples of all nations was the driving force of these special meetings. Though each of our guest speakers—Terri Savelle Foy, Kenneth Copeland, and Jesse Duplantis— preached unique messages, their messages converged into a united flow, acknowledging the time is short. It’s time for the body of Christ to push beyond the limits of the Christian experience, uniting together to make disciples of all nations. “And that,” said Pastor Mac, “is how we will change the face of the globe!”

GRACE UNVEILED 19 The Throne of Grace | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim taught the 19th installment on his series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” Romans tells us we have the ability to go to God without a sense of guilt or inferiority. That’s the work of grace in our lives. We are able to go to the throne of grace with boldness! What is the throne of grace? It is the throne of God’s unmerited favor. Because of that, when we fail, we can approach His throne without fear, without guilt, and with great confidence in His grace!

THY KINGDOM COME, #3, Transformation | Mac Hammond

Pastor Jim gave the 17th installment of his series on the book of Romans, entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” Subtitled “Matters of the Heart,” the text for the message was Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” When the law was given, it exposed the many sins of the people. The law’s effect is that the more clearly they saw what was right, the more things they discovered that were wrong. The more we see our sins, the more aware we become of the penalty from which God has saved us. But thanks be to God, those who put their faith and trust in Christ receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life!
