Revelation Revealed: Rev. 13:1–7, #20| Jim Hammond

Recap
Pastor Jim gave his 20th message in his on-going series entitled, “Revelation Revealed.” He taught on the first seven verses of chapter 13, where it talks about the Antichrist beast. He, again, reminded everyone of the motive for preaching this end-time prophetic series: to warn everyone about what it will be like during the reign of Antichrist. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. If you know what is to come, you’ll be motivated to do whatever possible to miss it!

Dive Deeper

Pastor Jim issued a warning to churches about the importance of not compromising the Gospel message with the world. He used the messages to the seven churches to reiterate their warning to not leave their first love and to go back doing their first works.

Revelation 13:1, “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”

Most commentators believe this beast is the seed of Satan, a.k.a. the Antichrist. This beast comes out of the sea, whereas the false prophet beast comes out of the earth.

Coming out of the sea means Antichrist is a Gentile, as the sea symbolizes different groups of people.

Others, however, argue that Antichrist will be Jewish (for different reasons).

The beast has seven heads and ten horns. The horns symbolize 10 rulers of 10 governments.

Six of the heads are past empires that have all dominated Israel. The seventh head will dominate Israel in the future. It will be the end time Antichrist kingdom.

Daniel prophesied about the ten horns, that they will come up first before the Antichrist. Daniel chapter seven says the Antichrist will uproot three of these ten horns quickly (7:7–8, 23–25). The other seven horns will immediately capitulate to him and hand him everything.

The beast is a combination of the four beasts that King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about. The beast has the body of a leopard, feet like a bear, mouth like a lion.

Revelation 13:2 says Satan gives the beast his power and seat of authority.

Revelation 13:3 says one of the heads on the beast was wounded to death and then he was healed of his wound. All the world will be amazed and wonder after the beast. Scholars are divided as to whether this death and resurrection event is fake or real. Whatever the case, it will cause the beast to be worshiped.

Zechariah chapter 11 talks about the end time Antichrist, calling him a foolish shepherd. Verses 15–17 say he will receive injuries to his right eye and to one of his arms.

Praying Down the Rain, 2 | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim gave some startling details, like how approximately 70% of the body of Christ—people who believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—do not believe in a literal Rapture of the church! They believe in something far different than what the Bible actually says. Will these people make it to heaven?

Praying the Rain Down | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim’s new teaching series began this past weekend, entitled, “Praying Down the Rain.” It was powerful! He delved into past revivals to examine whether there were certain things that triggered the move of God in the land. And he found them! Plus, you’ll get to hear a prophetic word about our very own state—Minnesota! If there is anyone out there that feels “ho-hum” on the subject of end time revival, this series will bring an end to that. Apathy will disappear!

The Glory

Pastor Mac taught the wrap-up to his series entitled, “Strategies of Deceit,” with the subtitle being “Reprobate Faith.” A deadly strategy of deception, reprobate faith is something the enemy will use to bring the greatest possible deception to bear in your life. “What is the greatest deception?” you ask. It is believing you are in faith when, in fact, you are not!
