Revelation Revealed: Chapter 19, #28 | Jim Hammond

Recap

Family of God, we are not to lose sight of what Jesus revealed to us in the book of Revelation. This past weekend, Pastor Jim gave his 19th installment in his series entitled, “Revelation Revealed.” He reminded us that the first chapter and first verse of Revelation starts out by saying it is a revelation of Jesus Christ; there are things revealed in Revelation that are not revealed in the Gospels. The book was written to us, His bond servants, those people that Jesus bought and paid for by being judged for us! It is to us that Jesus revealed the divine mysteries that are in this book. We were instructed to keep these mysteries in our hearts and not to lose sight of them!

In the last two weeks, Pastor Jim has been teaching on something called “The Mystery of Babylon.”

Revelation chapter 19 talks about the final destruction of Babylon as well as the return of Jesus Christ and the Wedding of the Bride and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Pastor Jim discussed the scripture in Zachariah 5:5–11 which is the vision of the woman in the ephah, which was identified as wickedness. Two women with wings picked up the ephah and took it the land of Shinar, which is Babylon. Commentators believe this woman, named wickedness, is Revelation’s Whore of Babylon.

The vision of the woman in the ephah is used to help shed light on Revelation chapters 17 and 18 which both talk about the Whore of Babylon, which commentators describe as two of the hardest chapters in the Bible to interpret.

When discussing the vision of the woman in the ephah, Pastor Jim took a moment to discuss whether there exists female angels.

Talked about Jude 1:14–15 which gives an ancient prophecy by Enoch (who was born before the flood) about the Second Coming of Jesus.

The great whore of Babylon is defined as the spirit behind the religious, political, and economic worldwide system of the antichrist.

Pastor Jim discussed how our own government is rapidly progressing toward a government of communism.

Talked about the Wedding of the Bride and the Marriage Super of the Lamb. Jim took time to compare the wedding of the bride to a typical Jewish wedding ceremony.

Talked about Jesus’ Second Coming in 19:11, where Jesus comes back on a white horse. Jesus will smite the nations and rule them with a rod of iron.

Talked about how those who refuse to worship the beast and take the mark will be beheaded.

Talked about the battle of Armageddon.

Talked about how carnivorous birds are invited to a great supper, in which they will feast on the dead armies of Antichrist.

Talked about how Antichrist and false prophet will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Read About It

Zec. 5:5–11, “Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth. 6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth. 7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah. 8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. 9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. 10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? 11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.”

Jude 1:14–15, “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

Rev. 19:7–8, “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”

Rev. 19:17–18, “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

Discussion Questions

There were two invitations to a great supper. Do you know what is the purpose for each great supper?

Why do you suppose the book of Revelation instructs us to keep these mysteries in our hearts and not to lose sight of them?

With what weapon will Jesus destroy the armies of Antichrist?

Finding Your Voice in Prayer | Ken Olson

Pastor Ken Olson shared with us a message on “Finding Your Voice in Prayer.” Noting that our nation’s Declaration of Independence declares that we, as citizens, have the right to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He further added, “There’s nothing more empowering, more enabling to pursue life, liberty, and happiness and so many other things that God has planned for our lives than a pursuit of a lifelong relationship through prayer with our Heavenly Father.” Heaven isn’t just a place. Heaven is a divine flow!

Dr. James Tan | Power and Fire, Part 3

Dr. James Tan was our special guest speaker. He spoke about the supernatural power people receive when they experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Entitled, “Power and Fire,” Dr. James taught all three weekend services on the basic fundamental truths concerning a believer’s encounter with Holy Ghost power! He stressed how important it is for all believers to have their own personal encounters with God the Holy Ghost for themselves. “You can’t live off someone else’s testimony,” he said. “You have to get your own experiences about encountering the power of the Holy Spirit for yourself.”

GRACE UNVEILED, #37: Tongues: The Fire Is Still Burning | Jim Hammond

Have you ever been in a place in your life where you don’t know how to pray or what to pray… where you don’t have the words to express to God what you need from Him? It’s a place in which all born again believers have found themselves. This is the subject matter Pastor Jim taught us in his 37th installment of his ongoing series on the book of Romans—“Grace Unveiled.” It is the Holy Spirit that makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered in articulate language. About tongues, Pastor Jim said, “I do this for myself. You should pray in tongues for yourself. It’s a mistake not to!”

When Grace Sprinted | Jim Hammond

When Jesus walked the earth, one of His missions was to reveal the Father God’s love for us. And one of the ways He did that was through the telling of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. When teaching on this parable, most preachers focus all their attention on the Prodigal Son, and how he repented. However, the whole point of this parable is to reveal the Father’s love. Pastor Jim said, “This may be one of the most-preached messages in history. And I know you think you know what this parable is all about… Well, we shall see.”

GRACE UNVEILED | Creation on the Edge of Its Seat (Leaning Forward) | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim taught the 36th installment of his ongoing series on the book of Romans, entitled “Grace Unveiled.” Due to the rich treasures that are contained in Romans chapter 8, Pastor Jim is determined to reveal every one of its gems, leaving no truth uncovered! Did you know, there are three “groans” in this chapter? In this message, we looked at the groan that all creation gives right before the end of the dispensation of grace. Folks, that’s right now!
