Recap:
Knowledge of God’s will comes to us in two ways: through the Word of God (His generic will for everybody) and through the Holy Spirit (His specific will for individuals). This weekend, Pastor Mac talked about God’s will for unity within the body of Christ and how vital it is for us to leave behind disagreements and focus on the mission God has given us to reach the world. Then, not only did we get a tag-team teaching on praying in tongues from Pastors Mac and Lynne, but we got to practice it during a time of prayer for our city.

Dive Deeper:
Knowing how to pray for our polarized society can be difficult. In fact, the more we focus on what divides us, the further schism can be perpetuated in our own lives. It’s time that we stop allowing division to be our focal point, particularly in the body of Christ. God’s will is for His Church to be united, not divided.

We do play a part in this. When we see the enemy working to divide us from each other, we can choose not to participate to the furthering of this separation. Choose forgiveness over animosity. Seek to understand before being understood. See brothers and sisters in the Lord as friends, not enemies.

Focus less on the feelings that arise as you look online. Focus more on God’s Word. Pray for our society, our leaders, and our fellow believers.

There’s something important God expects the body of Christ to do—and part of it includes prayer. Pray for our city. Pray for social justice—but know it will never be found outside of the Lord. You don’t need to know how to pray for it, except that you can allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you. Praying in tongues is a way to pray about what we don’t know how to pray about.

Because we don’t know, we can let the Holy Spirit pray through us, for He knows, how to best address the situations about which we are praying.

And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit].

He further added, “There’s nothing more empowering, more enabling to pursue life, liberty, and happiness and so many other things that God has planned for our lives than a pursuit of a lifelong relationship through prayer with our Heavenly Father.” Heaven isn’t just a place. Heaven is a divine flow!

Dr. James Tan was our special guest speaker. He spoke about the supernatural power people receive when they experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Entitled, “Power and Fire,” Dr. James taught all three weekend services on the basic fundamental truths concerning a believer’s encounter with Holy Ghost power! He stressed how important it is for all believers to have their own personal encounters with God the Holy Ghost for themselves. “You can’t live off someone else’s testimony,” he said. “You have to get your own experiences about encountering the power of the Holy Spirit for yourself.”

When Jesus walked the earth, one of His missions was to reveal the Father God’s love for us. And one of the ways He did that was through the telling of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. When teaching on this parable, most preachers focus all their attention on the Prodigal Son, and how he repented. However, the whole point of this parable is to reveal the Father’s love.
