The Vision Imperative | Mac Hammond
Recap
Pastor Mac entitled his new series, “The Vision Imperative.” He based his message on Proverbs 29:18: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” This is a cut-and-dried statement of scripture. There are no “ands, ifs, or buts” about it. Pastor Mac said, “You can pray to God all you want, but if you have no vision, you will perish.” This series will focus specifically on God’s vision and plan for us individually and personally!
Dive Deeper
Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Pastor Mac said, “You can pray all you want, but if there is no vision, you will perish.”
The word perish means “a slide toward the death defined by the Bible which is separation from God and/or His purpose.”
Perish means a slide toward death. Death is usually a progression. Ex: Your physical body progressively moves toward death through the aging process. It’s a journey.
The journey toward death can be financial, business, relational, physical, or spiritual. It all begins with having “no vision.”
Having no vision is the most common reason people receive little to nothing from the Lord. Having no vision is the reason why the enemy is able to make headway into your life by bringing his experience of death and cursing.
This year the focus of the series is on the vision God has for “your life.” Without your success in achieving the vision God has for you, you have little to contribute to the larger corporate vision God intends us as a church to embrace.
Pastor Mac said, “In all my decades of ministry, my experience is that the average Christian really doesn’t have a clue about vision.”
Most believers just simply live their lives with a “hope of heaven.” That’s wonderful, for sure, but every believer’s life on this earth matters… it matters to God what quality of life you experience and what you do with your life to promote His purpose in the earth.
It’s important that believers consider vision from the point of view of God’s vision for their lives.
What is vision? It’s a divinely imparted, initiated, and accelerated revelation of God’s purpose for your life.
Vision is an ongoing revelation. God seldom reveals all of His plan for your life in one fell swoop. A revelation of His entire plan might intimidate you or confuse you. For this reason, revelation is usually shown to you on a progressive ongoing basis.
When believers fail to receive a revelation from God regarding their lives, then they will start down a path destined for death. They are still saved and will make it to heaven. But it might be a premature death… perhaps death of a marriage, death of relationships, death of a business, death of financial prosperity. There are many ways in which death can touch your life.
However, we’ve been redeemed from every kind of death through the shed blood of Jesus. We do not have to experience death in this way. But the Bible says even to the redeemed, if you have no vision, then you’ve got no way to go but down.
Let’s read the rest of Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
The conjunction “but” suggests an alternative to perishing. Our understanding of vision should begin by “he that keepeth the law.” In the Old Covenant, the Word of God is called the “Law.”
The first arena of vision that has to be established in our lives is the Word of God. Basically, it puts the moral and ethical boundaries in our lives within which all of the effort we make to align our lives with the purpose of God must take place. The Bible is a revelation of how to be happy.
There is a second source of God’s vision, or God’s revelation, for you of His purpose for your life. This is a personalized vision. You won’t be able to find this personalized vision for your life from the Bible. It answers the questions like, “What am I do to with my life? Where am I supposed to live? What vocation should I pursue?”
God personalizes His plan for your life through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s primary ministry to you as a believer is revelation of His will and purpose for your life.

THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, “Trust” #4 | Mac Hammond

Pastor Mac taught the fourth message in his series, “The Impossible Dream.” We are called to dream the impossible dream. Or you could say God’s dream for us, because for us, it’s an impossibility. But nothing is impossible for God. That’s why it’s called the impossible dream. Pastor Mac said, “I feel like that this particular subject is something that will do as much to move your life forward in God while you’re on this earth as anything possibly could.”

GRACE UNVEILED: “Law of the Spirit of Life; The Law of Sin and Death” | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim presented his 30th installment in his series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” The book of Romans has been deemed one of the most priceless literary treasures in the world. In fact, many secular colleges study the book of Romans just for its literary value. Many scholars call Paul’s letter to the Romans the Definitive Statement of the Christian Doctrine. Presently, our study of Romans brings us to chapter 8—a chapter scholars claim to be one of the most powerful chapters in all the Bible.

GRACE UNVEILED: “Ever Doing the Things I Don’t Want to Do” #29 | Jim Hammond

Last weekend, Pastor Jim gave the 29th installment to his teaching series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” In this chapter, Paul talks about his own personal struggle as to why he keeps doing carnal things that he doesn’t want to do, yet he keeps doing them. This portion of scripture has to do with believers who are alive in their spirit man but are walking out their lives in spiritual defeat because they’re trying to obey the law with all of its rules and regulations in their own self-effort, their own strength. Thus, the subtitle of this message is “Ever Doing the Things I Don’t Want to Do.”

The Impossible Dream: Strongholds, #3 | Mac Hammond

Pastor Mac presented the third installment of his new series entitled, “The Impossible Dream.” He said it was important that we have a clear understanding of what is the impossible dream. It’s not enough simply to dream. You need to go out on a limb and dream an impossible dream. What is an “impossible” dream? It’s a dream that can’t be fulfilled without God’s ability and power! Pastor Mac said, “God has called us to be dreamers.”

GRACE UNVEILED: “Death, Raised, Bound, Loosed,” #28 | Jim Hammond

Pastor Jim continued with his series on the book of Romans entitled, “Grace Unveiled.” His focus was the passage in Romans 7:13–14: “Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.” Pastor Jim taught on the Apostle Paul’s own personal struggle with trying to live his Christianity with an Old Covenant mindset… how it was impossible to do and something that would only bring about failure. In spite of Paul’s warning, many Christians try to live their Christian lives with an Old Covenant mindset.
