Pastor Jim continued his series Grace Unveiled this past weekend. He continued in Romans chapter 6 and talked about what baptism is and the importance of recognizing that there is power available to us through Jesus’ resurrection. We are new creatures in Christ who can identify with the resurrection of Jesus. We don’t need to live by our old ways. We can magnify Jesus and all He is done for us. His grace makes us everything we can become today!

Who is the master in your life? Is it your sinful ways or is it Jesus?
 
A lot of people live condemned and stay focused on the old path they chose before Jesus. They don’t realize that when they chose to believe in Jesus, their old way of living immediately identifies with Jesus on the cross. They can put to death those defeating ways of life.
 
In order to reach a point in your life where your actions glorify God, it is important to consider all that Jesus has done for you, in particular, Jesus’ resurrection. Think about the mercy and grace exemplified in the crucifixion. Think about the power displayed in the resurrection. Think about the covenant that we entered into because of what Jesus did.
           
This is the basis of grace working in your life. Know that Jesus’ resurrection is a part of your life. As your thoughts go, so go you. Make Jesus big in your thought life and you’ll see Jesus become bigger in your life.

Romans 6:1–7 KJV
 
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
 
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
 
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
 
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

He further added, “There’s nothing more empowering, more enabling to pursue life, liberty, and happiness and so many other things that God has planned for our lives than a pursuit of a lifelong relationship through prayer with our Heavenly Father.” Heaven isn’t just a place. Heaven is a divine flow!
