Renee and her husband, Tim, began to attend Living Word in 1984. Shortly after, she became involved in many areas of ministry, including teaching the 4–5 year olds, being on an evangelism team, running the nursery for a woman’s Bible study, and doing editing for the church magazine.
Then in 1985, Tim and Renee began the Small Group ministry, and Renee also began to teach a group for wives and moms called HomeMakers. The group has since changed its name to Girls of Grace, and Renee is as passionate about leading this group as she was when it began. She teaches the group every Tuesday from September to May, with an average of 175 girls coming weekly.
Renee is also the pastor over the Small Group department, leads a monthly book group, helps teach at Marriage Matters, and puts together an annual event for women called Ladies Day Out. She also is a part of Christians United for Israel alongside her husband, Tim, who is the CUFI Minnesota State Director. Beyond ministry, Tim and Renee love spending time with their four adult married children and their grandson and four granddaughters.
