One Body, Serving Together

At-risk children in developing countries don’t have access to the same amenities we have in the United States; that’s why we can make a difference through this joint outreach to children around the world in need.

In unity we will find our greatest strength. That’s why Living Word is uniting with churches across the Twin Cities to reach people we couldn’t reach on our own. In conjunction with World Vision, volunteers from Living Word and various other churches will be joining together to assemble 8,000 Promise Packs. Here’s how World Vision describes what’s inside these backpacks (visit World Vision website).

“In parts of the world, AIDS and extreme poverty have left countless children alone without hope. You can lift up a suffering child with a Promise Pack—a special backpack full of basic school supplies, hygiene items, and an insect repellent blanket.”

Two assembly sessions are scheduled: 9–11 a.m. and 12–2 p.m. We are also looking for a team of 50 LW volunteers to help set up for the event on Friday night.

Thanks for getting involved and being part of what God is doing around the world. We love working together with other Christians around the Twin Cities to reach people, touch lives, and make a difference for the kingdom of God!
