In all the busy-ness of the season—the decorations, the parties, the wrapping, the shopping, let’s not forget the reason we gather.
Every year, Living Word starts off the month of December with a Christmas celebration, and this year was one for the books. We were blessed to have award-winning musical guest Colton Dixon and his band with us this year. A new take on classic Christmas carols, a haunting rendition of Emmanuel, and some of his own music was enjoyed by all.
Colton shared a really important point that is so important for all of us to remember. In all the busy-ness of the season—the decorations, the parties, the wrapping, the shopping, let’s not forget the reason we gather. The reason we have anything to celebrate at all. Jesus. God, sending His own Son to this earth as, to live a sinless life, to die for us—all so we may have eternal life with Him.
Pastor Mac went on to expound on two key points to consider when approaching this season. First, to believe in who Jesus is and what God sent Him to do. The second is that, as believers, we have both the privilege and responsibility to be Jesus to those around us, to let His light shine through us and to influence the world for Him.
Enjoy a blessed Christmas season, remembering that “it’s all hoopla” and that Jesus is what really matters.
