Eternity: One Flesh

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:27–28)

This past weekend, Pastor Mac started part two of Eternity, Eternal Ages Present. During these messages, he will talk about the section of time where time became necessary. When man disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, man’s days became numbered. But God, in His infinite grace, immediately set in place a plan of redemption that would restore everything back to His original intent at the end of that period of time. During this part of the series, Pastor Mac will focus on redemption and the redemptive process by following the trail of blood that shows up early in Genesis and runs throughout the Bible.

Pastor Mac talked about how, when God created man, male and female were housed in one body of flesh. That was the being to which God gave dominion on this earth. On his own, though, Adam did not follow God’s instructions to eat of the tree of life. As a result, God made Adam a helpmate who could encourage Him to follow God. This is important for us to know because it is the place of “one flesh” that comes inside of a marriage that is the place where God gives man dominion.

Pastor Mac will continue to discuss this, and share how we can access that place of one flesh as he continues his series the weekend of November 15 and 16.
